Our Brick office serves northern Ocean County and the southern edge of Monmouth County. It offers pain management and rheumatology under one roof. If you live in Brick or the nearby shore towns, you can see a specialist without heading to Toms River.

The office is at 1608 Route 88, Suite 102, in Brick Township, just north of HMH Ocean University Medical Center. Route 88 links the Parkway, Route 70 and the Point Pleasant area, so it is reachable from most of northern Ocean County. Patients come from Brick and Laurelton, from Point Pleasant, Point Pleasant Beach, Bay Head, Mantoloking and Lavallette, and from Lakewood and Wall Township.

Interventional pain specialist Dr. Samir Jani sees patients here, along with rheumatologist Dr. Shahzad Hussain. Dr. Jani evaluates back, neck, joint and nerve pain and offers image-guided treatment when it fits. Dr. Hussain diagnoses and manages autoimmune and inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis and gout. When joint pain may be inflammatory, mechanical or both, having both specialties in one office makes the next step simpler.

Many of our Brick patients have low back pain or sciatica, neck pain from desk work or old injuries, knee or hip arthritis, or pain after a car accident. Others come for a rheumatology evaluation of swollen, stiff joints or abnormal blood tests.

At your first visit we review your history, medicines and imaging, examine you and explain what we think is causing your symptoms. Many plans start with physical therapy, home exercise and medicines. When more is needed, options may include image-guided injections, radiofrequency ablation or, for long-lasting nerve pain, stimulator therapy. For inflammatory arthritis, treatment may include disease-modifying medicines or biologics. We go over the risks and realistic expectations, and results vary from person to person.

If you already see a primary care doctor, orthopedist or other specialist, we coordinate with them.
